Ramayana advance booking

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One has crossed Rs 100 crore in worldwide advance bookings for its opening weekend, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. The film releases in theatres on Thursday, 5 November 2026, with paid previews in the United States a day earlier.

What the Booking Figures Show

Sacnilk’s tally, reported by ETV Bharat on 3 November, put India’s advance gross at Rs 76.49 crore including blocked seats and Rs 60.69 crore without them. Overseas pre-sales added more than Rs 40 crore, which took the worldwide figure past Rs 100 crore.

Blocked seats are tickets reserved in bulk by distributors, brands or groups. Trackers usually report numbers with and without them, so the lower figure is a purer measure of public demand. The Telegraph’s earlier report, which you supplied, cited Rs 72.6 crore including blocked seats, and the figure has risen since.

Day-Wise and Language Breakdown

According to ETV Bharat’s account of Sacnilk’s data:

  • Opening day, 5 November: Rs 32.85 crore including blocked seats
  • Friday: Rs 15.51 crore
  • Saturday: Rs 17.07 crore
  • Hindi version: Rs 62.99 crore, about 82% of India’s pre-sales
  • Kannada: Rs 6.38 crore
  • Telugu: Rs 5.78 crore
  • Tamil: Rs 1.10 crore
  • Malayalam: Rs 23.01 lakh

Later updates show the pace continuing. DNA reported on 4 November that more than 25 lakh tickets had sold in India, and Business Today reported that India’s advance bookings were nearing Rs 100 crore, at Rs 95.85 crore, before the first-day shows. Those totals may include more days than the opening weekend, so treat them as separate counts.

North America and Overseas Markets

The Telegraph report, citing Sacnilk, said US paid previews for 4 November had earned more than $1.2 million, with over 51,000 tickets sold. It added that total US advance sales for the opening weekend were around $3 million. I could not confirm these US figures in other coverage, so check them against Sacnilk before publishing.

Earlier, Business Today reported on 26 October that worldwide advance bookings for opening day had passed $2 million, with North America contributing more than $550,000 from preview screenings. Sony Pictures is handling distribution outside India, and Sacnilk says it is preparing more than 50,000 overseas screens, according to Outlook India.

Format Demand

Glamsham reports that premium formats account for almost a quarter of ticket sales while representing only about 4% of screens. The film is releasing in IMAX and other premium formats worldwide, according to the makers.

Cast and Release Details

Ramayana: Part One stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. It is produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, and is the first of two parts. The second part is slated for Diwali 2027. It releases in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Advance booking opened in India on 20 October, according to Business Today. The film held a world premiere in Los Angeles on 27 October.

Why These Numbers Matter

Advance sales are a measure of anticipation, not final earnings. A strong pre-sale cushion suggests big opening-day crowds, and several trade outlets compare Ramayana’s tally with those of recent large Indian releases. Trade projections cited by the Telegraph put a possible five-day North American opening at $13 to 14 million, with an overseas opening weekend beyond $20 million. These are estimates and not guarantees.

Word of mouth, reviews and holiday timing will decide how long the momentum lasts, particularly because the Diwali period is close.

What to Watch Next

The first official collection figures will come on 6 November, when trackers report opening-day numbers. Watch how Hindi-belt audiences, the premium-format shows and weekday business hold up. Reviews and audience reactions will also shape the film’s run ahead of Part Two.
